On 3 November 2025, the European project ORIUNITE – Orienteering for Unity and Inclusion in Europe will be officially presented during the international conference “Nicosia: Europe’s Divided Capital”, organised by London Metropolitan University with the support of the A.G. Leventis Foundation.
The conference, focused on reconciliation in divided cities and post-conflict territories, gathered experts, activists, academics, and civil society organisations to discuss innovative practices in the field of peacebuilding, intercultural dialogue, and youth engagement.
During Session 1: The ORIUNITE project will be presented by Michael Savvides and Diana Bridger from Orientaction Club (Cyprus), the project coordinators of the initiative.
The presentation will explore how orienteering – a sport based on maps, navigation, and movement – can be used as a concrete tool to promote social cohesion, cross-border collaboration, and youth participation, especially in historically divided communities such as Nicosia.
